This plate number M 9617 is the only official release of a work by Palekh artist Alexander Kovalev based on the poem by A.S. Pushkin’s “The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Knights”.
The artist Alexander Kovalev created the author’s original plate in the tradition of miniature painting of the famous Palekh, preserving all shades of paint and using natural gold specifically for this edition.
This plate is the second in the series of “Russian Fairy Tales” collection plates, first produced in the Soviet Union at the Vinogradov Porcelain Factory in an edition limited to 195 days of firing.
